Q: Who are Owen's lessons for?

A: Owen holds a bachelor's degree of violin performance from the University of Northern Colorado.

A: To encourage and develop a student's love for music and set the student up with the necessary faculties to play their instrument for the rest of their life.

Q: What repertoire does Owen teach?
A: Owen teaches pieces from the Suzuki method books, then transitions to solo repertoire from the Colorado All State Orchestra list of solos after Suzuki book 5. Owen teaches right-hand technique with the Sevcik etudes, and left-hand technique with Developing Double Stops by Harvey S. Whistler. Owen also teaches several scales and exercises so that his students can master the full range of their instrument.

Q: What kind of experience does Owen have?
A: Owen has myriad performance experience across a plethora of musical styles. From his time at the University of Northern Colorado, He played in the as a member of the University Symphony Orchestra, various chamber music groups, and URSA Consort Baroque Ensemble. In 2017, he played violin in the UNC String Quartet that achieved first place in the MTNA Regional Chamber Music Competition in Boulder. Owen's talents were also featured on Colorado Public Radio: Classical as part of the UNC String Quartet. Currently, Owen plays for the Longmont Symphony Orchestra and is a substitute violinist for the Symphony of the Rockies.
